There are a number of reasons why an Australian Visa application may be refused. The main reason for refusals, for applicants who applied themselves, is either incomplete or inaccurate information being submitted. This is why we recommend using a professional service, such as our sister agency Point Migration Agency, to help reduce the risk of your application being refused.

Other reasons Australian visa applications may be refused include:

  • Missing proof of financial information
  • Providing false and incorrect information
  • Nominating the wrong occupation from the Skilled Occupations List (SOL)
  • Incorrect use of visas – eg using a tourist visa to visit relatives or partners
  • Not meeting health requirements
  • Not providing proof that you are competent in the English language
If you wish to seek professional advice regarding a visa refusal please contact us.

If your Australian visa application has been cancelled or refused, you may be able to appeal the decision and after and write seek merits review through the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).
